INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

Fee Only

As a fee-only investment advisor, we are fiduciaries, not salespeople. We are not paid commissions for selling specific investment products.

Transparency

Management fees are clearly labeled on account statements which are generated by a third party custodian to ensure reporting accuracy.

Low Cost Investments

Reducing investment related fees adds to growth over time. We utilize low cost, high liquidity investments to minimize costs and save you money.

Proven Strategy

We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. We believe in the concepts of proper asset allocation based on factors like risk tolerance and time horizon.

Diversification

Add efficiency and diversification to your investment portfolio with the right mix of exchange traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, and individual stocks and bonds.

Tax Efficiency

Combine the right investments with the right account for tax efficient investing that leaves more of your money in your pocket where it belongs.

INVESTMENT SERVICES

Chrome Asset Management is a fee-only investment advisor in Denver, CO. This means that we do not receive commissions from the investments used in our clients’ portfolios. This type of compensation model reduces the incentive to use proprietary, or worse, inferior investment products as compared to other advisory businesses.

Brokerage accounts, IRAs, Trust Accounts, and College Saving 529 Plans are some examples accounts we setup and manage for clients on a discretionary basis.

Properly managing assets is only part of a comprehensive wealth strategy. In addition to investment management, individuals must consider other aspects of their financial lives. Effective planning requires strategic retirement, estate, and charitable planning considerations. By coordinating each of these areas, we are able to help you maximize your achievements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

"As fee-only managers, we align our interests with clients, not sales commissions."

− Alex Khandelwal, Co-Founder

What kind of investments do you use in portfolios?

We use things like ETFs, mutual funds, and individual stocks and bonds.

We do not sell commission-based investments such as loaded mutual funds, variable annuities, or private placement deals. We also avoid high risk trading strategies using derivative products or leverage.

In many cases we find that clients need basic life insurance to protect their families and assets. While Chrome Asset Management does not directly offer insurance, life insurance brokerage services are provided by Flatirons Asset Management. Please click here to learn more.

What are some fund companies you use?

We use mutual funds and ETFs from well known fund companies such as:

  • Vanguard
  • Charles Schwab
  • iShares

We are not directly associated or compensated from any of these firms. Low operating expenses and high liquidity are main factors in our selection criteria.

What is your investment style?

We start the investment process by determining your time horizon, risk tolerance, and any specific goals you may have. We use this discovery process to develop a suitable asset allocation and investment plan.

We maintain regular communication with you to make sure your goals and investments continue to be aligned.

Can you provide any client testimonials or reviews?

Referrals from existing clients are our main source of new business. Relationships are the key to our business, but certain compliance rules prevent investment advisors from publishing testimonials.

Under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940, investment advisors are prevented from publishing testimonials or reviews. It may be a red flag if you see testimonials, reviews, and similar material published by an investment professional or company.

Who has access to my money?

You are the only one with full access to your account. As financial advisors, we only have the ability to make investment decisions and collect fees. Your assets are held in your name at a well known custodian such as Charles Schwab.

The account custodian produces and delivers monthly account statements. Independent third party reporting ensures accuracy and transparency.

How are you compensated for your services?

We are a fee-only investment manager which means we earn money by charging a percentage of the assets we manage.

We also have CFP® professionals on staff that perform hourly financial planning work for our clients. We charge a flat hourly rate for financial planning services. Please click here to learn more about our fee only financial services.
